| My eldest
is Peter Damian (b. 1968; known as Damian or
PD). He was meant to be the foundation of string quartet - he learnt
the violin from an early age, but gave it up and took up the trombone for
a mercifully brief span. He has always been into computers; when he was
10 or so he used to drive a PDP11-70 whenever I could sneak him and his
brother into the University on weekends. He has subsequently developed
an interest in absurd computer languages and operating systems, and I knew
no good would come of it.
After a double First (Maths and Computation) at Oxford he taught for a while (also at Oxford) and then became a computer consultant (still in Oxford), developing fiercely fiendish stuff to sear people's eyeballs off across the internet. He lives with Jeremy and a bike (the latter part-time), and used to be heavily into writing and publishing extremely small comics with minimalist stick figures and, superficially, minimalist stick dialogue.
