Ian Cugley: Squirrels (Pastel) 
 

These are a compendium of several squirrels sketched in Brockley Park, South London.  They were tame enough to come close and occasionally eat out of my hand, but they would not pose for long despite being fed.  I have a sketchbook full of left ears or half a paw which I have had to stitch together to make whole animals.  Josie bought me a new set of 75 Rowney pastels, and this is the first thing I did with them. All 75 colours are used in this picture.
